Magnificent Monday — November 28, 2011 — “Quirky” In Korea

Posted by on Nov 29, 2011 in Magnificent Monday's, Uncategorized | 6 comments

Jim at Hole in My Soles is hosting another week of Magnificent Monday. This weeks theme is “quirky”. I’m a little late, but I know that somewhere in the world it is still Monday.

I’ve taken my share of quirky photos over the years, and here are a few for your viewing pleasure.

Meet Ginseng Man…Taken at the International Ginseng Festival in Geumsan, Korea. The Koreans love their ginseng.

Jim at Holes in My Soles is hosting another week of Magnificent Monday and this weeks theme is “Vintage”.

A number of vintage action heroes could be found at the Seoul Lantern Festival at the Cheonggyecheon Stream in downtown Seoul this past weekend.

There was Superman…

The Seoul Lantern Festival is an annual event held during the first two weeks in November at the Cheonggyecheon Stream in downtown Seoul. The huge lanterns float in the stream and are admired by hundreds of thousands during the two week event. The weather this past Saturday was perfect, and it was literally wall to wall people. The event is free to attend.

Magnificent Monday — Transportation

Posted by on Nov 7, 2011 in Magnificent Monday's | 9 comments

Magnificent Monday is happening over at Holes in My Soles , and this week Jim has chosen “Transportation” as our theme. No matter where we are going we have to have a way of getting there. From our feet to huge airliners, modes of transportation are everywhere.

Some of my favorites…

Magnificent Monday — “Look Through Any Window, Door, or Archway”

Posted by on Oct 31, 2011 in Magnificent Monday's, Uncategorized | 11 comments

Another Magnificent Monday is happening over at HolesinMySoles, and this week Jim has chosen the theme “Look through any window, door or archway”. I believe that your eyes are the windows to your soul, and that windows and doors are eyes to the world. I’m always looking for doors or windows to frame a shot, and here are a few of my favorites…

Magnificent Monday — Smiles

Posted by on Oct 11, 2011 in Magnificent Monday's, Uncategorized | 7 comments

This week’s Magnificent Monday theme from Jim over at Holes in My Soles is “Smiles”. I don’t know who among us can resist a warm smile when we are in a strange land. While sometimes our models may ask for a small sum of money, most give their smiles freely.

Here are a couple of my favorite smile shots from my travels…

Magnificent Monday — Spring and Autumn Collections

Posted by on Oct 4, 2011 in Korea, Magnificent Monday's, Uncategorized | 10 comments

Magnificent Monday is here again (how time flies)! The theme this week is Spring and Autumn Collections. Hosted by Jim at Holes in My Shoes, head over there to view more fantastic spring and fall shots from around the world. You can even join in the fun.

Fall has definitely struck here on the Korean peninsula. This was the first weekend that I have had to wear jeans and a fleece jacket since last April! I even had my gloves on last night. If this cold snap continues, we are in for a long winter. This is my 11th autumn in Korea, and I have taken many great fall shots over the years. Here is a sample…
