Welcome to another week of Travel Photo Thursday, and Happy New Year! I’m still whiling away the hours here on the beach in Hua Hin. The weather has been fantastic, and I can’t remember the last time I felt so relaxed. I’ll be heading out to Chiang Mai on Friday, where I will spend the rest of the winter hanging out in Chiang Mai, and doing some tripping through Northern Thailand. Besides hanging out and day tripping I’ll be starting at least one major project over the winter. Really way too early to say much more than that, but I’ll be letting the world know as soon as I can 🙂
To join in the Travel Photo Thursday fun simply post a photo on your blog. Return here and place your link in the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this post.
Please post a link to a post featuring a travel photo, not simply a link to your blog.
The Twitter hash tag for Travel Photo Thursday is #TPThursday.

I did manage to move off the beach long enough to get a photo of the sunset at the pier.
___
Then, I set the alarm clock (gasp!) for this morning, so I wouldn’t miss the sunrise at the beach…

Good for you! I am really a sunset person – I almost never see the sunrise, although I do like to be up that early once I am out of bed. 🙂
I’ll link in the morning since it isn’t actually Thursday yet here!
Enjoy the beach!
Getting out of bed is never the hard part. However, getting out the door is!
Looks Beautiful. I especially love the third sunrise pic as the globe is glowing orange. Hua Hin looks like a good place to get up early for 🙂
Johanna, it was worth getting up early. Maybe next time I’ll convince myself to get up and out early more often!
An early flight, or an early start for a day out in our boat are the only things that get me out of bed before the sun. I am definitely not an early morning person. The beach does look beautiful and relaxing at that time of day though.
I’m a morning person, so I love to get up early. Especially if there is a good cup of coffee to be had.
Too funny, my post today is about a sunrise tour in Maui. I love sunsets- but who doesn’t. They are so easy to see. Sunrise photos take more energy! haha!

Looks like setting the alarm was totally worth it! Have a great new year with plenty of travels!
Your life right now is the exact opposite of mine. Relaxing – negative. Warm – never. And the only colour is blue – no complaints about the blue – but the only other colour here is the odd bit of a pink in a sunrise. Nancie the sun isn’t rising till after 8am so no need to set the alarm. Enjoy your beach vacation. It seems my son has decided that a Caribbean wedding is the thing to do so I will have a beach in my future next November or December. Yeah!
Love the 2nd shot. Catching the sunrise and actually stopping to take it in, and enjoy it just seems to special to me…even though you have the opportunity to do it everyday! Reminds me of sneaking out to see the sun come up when we were in Kauai in November…we were up even before the baby.
Happy New Year to you!
The only thing better than a sunset in my book is a sunrise! I am up at o-dark-hundred waiting for ‘the moment’ and love every. . .yawn . . .minute of it!
Happy New Year, Nancie! Love your sunset photos.
Good luck with your project.
Lovely beach shots! I think it’s been years since I was up early enough to see the sunrise hehe Happy new year, Nancie!
You travel with an ALARM clock???
No, a smart phone 🙂
Happy New Year, Nancie! So glad to hear you brought in the new year relaxed and rested. Always love seeing your sunset/sunrise photos especially in this part of the world. Can’t wait to hear about your winter project. Safe travels to Chiang Mai!
Happy New Year, Mary. Made it to CM safe and sound. Have spent the last few days wandering around and taking in the changes, and eating more great food. It’s a good thing that I walk everywhere!
Sadly, I am not a morning person. I may wake up at six, but I don’t really begin functioning until about 10. 🙂 Although I would love to capture a really great sunrise picture one of these days.
I’m an early morning runner so I get up early most mornings which means when I’m traveling I like to wake up on my own! I really need to set the alarm occasionally so I can get some great shots like yours 🙂
I’ve got a disproportionately high number of sunset shots compared with sunrise! HHHMMMmmm… wonder why that is? Your glorious sunrises inspire me to see what I’m missing! Happy New Year!
Although I am a morning person, I still find it difficult to actually get myself dressed and out the door before the crack of dawn!
Looks like a beautiful place to spend some time in the winter. Now on to Chiang Mail? Nice. Love the shots.
Walking on the beach at a warm locale sounds inviting right now since its “freezing” here, especially between sundown and sunrise!

That was really beautiful. Sunrise are the best scene in the morning. By the way I really love the photos as well. Thanks a lot for sharing the following sunrise photos.
Happy New Year, Nancie! Looks like you’re enjoying the tropical weather in the winter. Looking forward to read about your winter project.
ahhhh — I was thinking of beautiful beaches myself today! Love them all 😉
