Through the Sandbox Lens #47 — Sunset on the Danube

Posted by on Jul 9, 2012 in Prague Sandbox, Through the Sandbox Lens | 4 comments

Despite the record breaking temperatures (the city was the second hottest in the world earlier this week), I am loving Budapest. This is the first nice sunset I have had since arriving in Europe. The weather in Prague has been quite good, but by early evening it has usually been raining. This shot makes me smile. Of course, anyone coming to Budapest looking for the sunset…walk straight to the riverside and on a sunny evening you won’t be disappointed!

  1. The only time I was ever in Budapest, I was mugged. I know that it can happen in any major city, but it really left me with a bad taste for the place. Be careful where you go, especially after sunset, and stay safe over there.

    • Guess what, I have traveled the world and I have never had anything stolen. In fact, the only time I have had anything stolen was at work. I’m not saying it can’t happen, but I prefer to not focus on the negative when I’m traveling and I stay safe by using my common sense.

  2. I remember also waiting for sunset by the river Danube, across the Parliament. Unfortunately it was winter and I kept shivering LOL I so miss Europe!

    • Aleah, I can just imagine how cold it would be standing there. This week there was no fear of frost bite. Budapest had record breaking temps all week! It was 37cel when I left yesterday.
