Here we are for another edition of Wanderfood Wednesday hosted by Wanderlust and Lipstick
Anyone who read yesterday’s blog knows that I was at a bull fighting festival here in Korea this past weekend. I have never been to any festival where food has not played an important role. Korea is no exception. We all love an excuse to eat (at least I do), and what better place than a festival.
There was so much to choose from! After circling the eating tents a few times I finally decided to begin with a tempura snack. I didn’t realize until I got right up to the counter that this wasn’t any ordinary tempura. It was Korean Ginseng Tempura! The Korean’s love their ginseng. I had never seen it prepared like this, so I was intrigued. For a chunun ($1.00) I got to snack on this delicious treat! Yum. The first thing that came to mind was fried parsnip. That’s exactly what it tasted like, and I love fried parsnip. I’ll be looking for this treat again the next time I go to a festival. I might even learn to make it at home.
