Travel Photo Thursday, September 1, 2011 — Canada, From Sea to Sea

Last Updated on September 1, 2011 by Nancie

Welcome to another week of Travel Photo Thursday, and happy September. Today is the first day of the semester for me. I am back to 15 weeks of university teaching and then I’ll be heading out on my next adventure; yet to be determined. The book deadline was pretty much met, YAY! Fingers crossed that there are no surprises. Stay tuned, next week Travel Photo Thursday should have their first sponsor, and their might be something special happening; don’t you love surprises?!

To join in the Travel Photo Thursday fun simply post a photo on your blog. Return here and place your link in the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this post. Please remember to leave a comment after you link. Finally, if you have a few moments, visit the others who have linked. Perhaps you can give them a tweet, a stumble, or a comment on their TRAVEL PHOTO THURSDAY.

Please post a link to a post featuring a travel photo, not simply a link to your blog.

If you do tweet a shot, please use the hashtag #TPThursday.

I took this shot a couple of year ago when I visited Vancouver Island, and it’s still one of my favorites. There’s nothing like a Canadian sunset with the water and the trees…magic

  1. Your sunset over water picture is absolutely gorgeous. And we have some pretty wonderful sunsets here in Arizona. I’m joining Travel Photo Thursday for the first time with a photo form Hatch New Mexico, chile capital of the world. We could not believe our eyes when we saw all the giant statues along the road.

  2. What a lovely photo! Makes me miss Canada. The longer I’ve been away, the more I wonder why I tried to escape it so much by traveling to other places.

Look forward to next week! Congrats on securing a sponsor.

Also, enjoy your time back at school. Can’t believe it’s Sept already!

    • I know what you mean Cheryl. You don’t have to go very far in Canada to find nature at its finest. Then I remember the cold nasty Nova Scotia winters 🙂

  3. Oh, wow, that water is amazing. I wish I could dive right in. Congrats on your deadline and have a great semester!

  4. Thanks to your Travel Photo Thursday I went back to our Greek photo files . . .many memories there. I just posted one on our blog that I took in Naxos. TPT is a great idea!

  5. Beautiful shot! I love the tree silhouettes in the background. And fittingly I also posted a sunset picture for today’s post 🙂

  6. Beauty of a sunset. I love sunrise and sunsets over water, anywhere in the world. Just half the time, when I plan on shooting from a certain location, the clouds or rain ruin my plans.
So, I always have an alternate plan. Usually inlolves lots of beer. I call that Plan B.

    • Hi there,

Just to let you know that I can’t comment on your blog as I don’t have a google account or an account with the other sources listed. You should really have a way for people to just comment by leaving name, email and URL

    • That’s one of the things I miss about Canada. It is just so easy to connect with nature, and it is usually so unspoiled.

  7. This is certainly beautiful, Nancie, and is an especially nice one for me, as I was recently on Vancouver Island in my first ever trip to Canada. What a lovely place, and what friendly people! Yours, from San Francisco, where I am still until Sunday, Andrew.

  8. Came in late, but at least I got to enter my picture of a woman in the Grand Palace, Bangkok. 🙂 Love your pic, by the way. I gotta learn how to take nice sunset photos!
