Travel Photo Thursday — March 8, 2012 — More Flowery Goodness from the Royal Flora in Chiang Mai

Posted by on Mar 8, 2012 in Travel Photo Thursday, Uncategorized | 27 comments

Welcome to another week of Travel Photo Thursday. We’ve had a cool, rainy, and dull week here in Daejeon. I know the farmers need the rain, but I can’t wait to see the sun return. For today’s Travel Photo Thursday I’ve returned to the Royal Flora in Chiang Mai. Flower shots always brighten up a dull day!

To join in the Travel Photo Thursday fun simply post a photo on your blog. Return here and place your link in the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this post.

Please post a link to a post featuring a travel photo, not simply a link to your blog.

As a courtesy please post a link to Budget Travelers Sandbox.

If you do tweet a shot, please use the hashtag #TPThursday.

A few more shots from Chiang Mai’s Royal Flora…

A bench to rest your feet (which I did!…beautiful and relaxing!)

Pretty in Pink… (I have no idea what the name of this flower is, but I think it’s gorgeous!)

Water Lilly Reflection (reminds me of a Monet painting)

I think the pollen on the petals of this white lily really adds to the shot.

To end, two beauties from the orchid pavilion…

The show continues for another week, so if you are in Chiang Mai or planning to be there in the next week you still have time to catch the free shuttle to the grounds. It’s a great day out for a budget traveler, and if you missed my previous post, you can read more details here

  1. Absolutely gorgeous and a much needed burst of color for those of us still stuck in winter.

    • Thank you! Yes, and that would be me too. Everything is still gray and brown here in Daejeon, although yesterday on the walk to the office I noticed that the buds are starting to pop.

  13. Beautiful! The water lilly and its reflection are gorgeous!

  14. Our weather has been so dreary that I almost did a flower post today as well. Glad I didn’t – yours are far more exquisite!

  15. Great floral shots!

  16. It’s grey and rainy here today too so the beautiful shots of flowers were a welcome bright spot this morning. A nice reminder that spring is, in fact, on the way.

  18. The flowers are gorgeous and you captured them so beautifully. I love the white lily with the pollen.

  19. I’ve been hearing so many great things about Chiang Mai recently, and it looks absolutely beautiful. The photo of the water lily is fantastic.

  20. So nice to see more flowers – it really is amazing to see the variety on display.

  21. Your closeups are amazing. I need to work on remembering to use a small tripod since I’m generally too shaky for good closeups. I particularly love the last one–purity.

  22. Beautiful colours in this series!

  23. Gorgeous flowers! I love flower photos, makes me look forward to spring. The 2nd photo, the pink one is probably my favorite of the bunch. Although I really do adore the lily pad photo too.
