Travel Photo Thursday — December 26, 2013 — Christmas Sunset in Doi Saket, Thailand

Last Updated on December 26, 2013 by Nancie

Welcome to Travel Photo Thursday, our 157th edition. I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas. I spent my day relaxing with good food and drink, finishing off the day with a gorgeous sunset over the rice paddies in Doi Saket; a small town just outside of Chiang Mai.  Here a several of my favorite sunset shots from the day.

Doi Saket...Almost Dark

Northern Thailand is experiencing a bit of a cold snap at the moment. We’ve had night time temps as low as a chilly 10C. My first night here I went to bed with my fuzzy socks on! Those chilly night time temps mean mist on the rice paddies in the morning…

  2. Hi Nancie, glad you to hear you had a relaxing Christmas day and ended a day with gorgeous sunset. The series of sunset shot is very stunning. The misty morning is jus as spectacular. I hope the chilly weather in Northern Thailand reminds you of a Christmas at home a bit. Have a wonderful New Year celebration.

  3. Those sunset photos are beautiful! Glad you’re having a wonderful break in CM. But, my favorite has to be that rice paddies with the mist hanging over it. It looks so serene. I hope you had a Merry Christmas! Wishing you a wonderful New Year week!

    • Hi Mary! Christmas was lovely, and it is so nice to be somewhere warm! It’s a little cooler than usual, but nothing a pair of socks can’t remedy. Enjoy your holiday!

  4. I hope you had a lovely and relaxing holiday. I can see why you like to spend Christmas there! Best wishes and happy new year!

  5. I love the ‘cold’ season in South East Asia. A good time for me to visit since I can’t stand heat and humidity. The sunset looks beautiful.

  6. This is one of the places that I would love to visit. I definitely adore the culture, the people and the history. My favorite in your photos is the “almost dark” because it makes you feel romantic and melancholic. Hope I can visit Thailand in the near future.
