Get those virtual $10.00 bills ready! Passports with Purpose annual fundraiser kicks off today. Last year’s donations of $90,000 built two libraries in Zambia. If you have a moment, do take the time to watch this heart warming video, highlighting the opening ceremony of one of the libraries. Make sure you have some kleenex!
This is the third year that Budget Travelers Sandbox has been a part of this awesome fund raiser, and like last year and the year before, BTS has donated an Amazon Kindle. This is not just any Kindle, but the new Kindle Paperwhite. Learn more about it here
Please note: If you live in the U.S., I will personally have your Kindle shipped from Amazon. Any winner outside of the U.S. will receive an Amazon Gift Card in the amount of $119.00US. You can use this to order your Kindle Paperwhite. Any shipping or customs charges are the winner’s responsibility.
All of the prizes are listed on the Passports with Purpose raffle site. Donate $10.00 and you’ll receive a virtual raffle ticket. You can use your ticket to try and win any of the awesome prizes that have been donated.
My reason for choosing this particular prize to donate is very simple. I love reading, and I fell in love with my Kindle the moment I opened the box. Having my traveling library available on this light weight reader has made packing easier and lighter, plus it’s so easy to download new books when I’m on the road. I don’t have to wait for a bookstore to open, or until I reach the next town. Amazon is only a click away. You can also read last year’s post for more reasons why.
Good luck! I hope whoever wins will email me sometime and let me know how much you love your Kindle Paperwhite. Be generous and help families in rural Haiti realize the dream of clean drinking water.
