Getting our Twenty Winks in Bali

Sanur Beach, Bali

The world forgot to tell Bail that there is a recession. At least that is the case over Christmas and New Years. However, with some searching and early booking we managed to find what appears to be good budget accommodation.

I arrive in Bali from Kuala Lumpur on December 25th around 1:30pm. My friend Faith will fly in from Taiwan about an hour later. From the airport we will be heading to the Casa Ganesha Hotel – Resto & Spa in Ubud for 4 nights. I booked this through Agoda.com, and paid in advance. The rooms were $60.00US per night including breakfast. Definitely on the high end for budget accommodation. However, it’s Christmas and that was about the only thing available at under $100.US in what appears to be a good location. I have booked through Agoda in the past, and have always been happy with their service.

On December 29th we will move to the Sayang Mahar Mertha Hotel At $20.00US a night, and we each have our own room, the price is right. Breakfast is also included. This hotel is located in Legian quite close to the airport, and to the beaches. I booked this room through AsiaRooms I’ve been using this company for years, and have always been satisfied. They recently underwent some major changes. You no longer have to pay in advance. You simply present the voucher at check-in and pay what is owing. I would have preferred to book both hotels through Asia Rooms, but the Casa Ganesha Hotel was sold out.

This is where we’ll be getting out twenty winks. I’ll be sure to publish a full review with photos.
