Travel Photo Thursday – October 20, 2011 – Colorful Asian Markets

Last Updated on October 20, 2011 by Nancie

Welcome to another week of Travel Photo Thursday. The teaching semester has reached the half way mark, and my thoughts are turning more and more to my winter travels. This winter I’ll be in Thailand and Spain, and I’m looking forward to spending time wandering through the local markets with my trusty camera.

To join in the Travel Photo Thursday fun simply post a photo on your blog. Return here and place your link in the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this post.

Please post a link to a post featuring a travel photo, not simply a link to your blog.

If you do tweet a shot, please use the hashtag #TPThursday.

Here are a few of my favorite market shots…

Markets are a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the local culture and food without blowing your budget.

  1. Love the colour of the chilis.
What do the woman have on their face in the Bagan market?
Strolling markets is one of my favourite things to do traveling. Looking forward to markets in Spain in just over a week.

  2. I get lost in markets. Just love to browse them looking at all the food and local products. But if my wife wants me to go shopping at home with her I can’t stand it!

  3. Markets are our favorite part of visiting new cities. Maybe they call out so much because we have such a limited ‘market season’ in the Puget Sound area of Washington State. . .May to October, well, with the exception of our famous Pike Place Market in Seattle.
    Beautiful shots!

  4. Love the chili one – it’s actually something I could easily see on my road trips around New Mexico 🙂 Great colors!!

  5. Beautiful pictures! Coincidence wanted I too posted photos of Asian local markets today, but West Asia, precisely Iran! Very colorful too, and delicious 🙂
