My contribution to Foodie Tuesday (May 20, 2014), hosted by Inside Journeys.

Welcome to the 153rd edition of  Travel Photo Thursday. Enjoy our virtual world tour. Please contribute your own travel photo or post, for all to enjoy.

Winter has arrived in Daejeon, blah! In an effort to keep warm (and sane), I have been sorting through summertime shots. I realized that I haven’t posted about this beautiful, quaint tea house that I found when I was passing through Mahone Bay last summer. Although I didn’t have tea that day, I did buy a delicious blend to take home. I am sipping on some of that deliciousness as a write. Join me as I take you on a photo tour of Mahone Bay’s Tea Brewery.

To join in the Travel Photo Thursday fun simply post a photo on your blog.

Return here and place your link in the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this post.

Please post a link to a post featuring a travel photo, not simply a link to your blog.

Finally, what did I have to eat and drink? Being a hot day, I opted out of having hot tea. Instead, I had this delicious strawberry smoothie, and a scrumptious, melt in your mouth oatcake! Trust me, making a decision was no easy feat!

How could I resist?

YUM!!
YUM!!

  1. Sitting down with a nice cup of hot tea in a quaint little place like this is something that always sounds so appealing. Yet, I really don’t do it very often. I must change that! The quirky teapot is very cool.

  2. Some of my favorite travel memories have been made in coffee (or tea) shops that I’ve happened upon. There is nothing like sipping a cup of something warm and wonderful and people watching to fill a couple of hours. Hope your winter is just a teaser and holds off for a bit longer, Nancie!

    • Hi Jackie! We are kindred spirits. I am always happy when I can find a nice coffee or tea shop/cafe when I’m traveling. It is scheduled to warm up again tomorrow, at least for a few days! YAY!

  3. Having just returned from Turkey, I am very much into drinking tea Nancie, so I have made myself a cup and added a museli bar and now I will be checking out all the posts. Love your tea shop. What a lovely memory to revisit.

  4. It’s interesting that you’re looking at these Canadian summer photos and feeling warm while I’m sitting in Malaysia, looking at them, and feeling cooler. I like that teapot, too! A smoothie sounds delightfully refreshing right now. Back to making my Thanksgiving supper…

  5. What a gorgeous tea house. I wouldn’t have associated the architecture with that part of the world, indeed it looks like an English red brick house! Loved the inside, how quaint and interesting.

  6. What a lovely tea house. I feel warm just looking at its color. Keep warm and enjoy your tea. I can use one right now. I’m in Iceland and yes, its cold!

  7. I love your photo of the teapot. It’s one of the few things I could really see myself collecting.
I think we’ve got our 5th weekend in a row with snow in the forecast and I hear one night next week it’s supposed to drop to -27C. Winter can take a bit of getting used to. Where are you heading for the winter holidays?

    • Hi Leigh! -27C puts chills through my bones…ugh. I have to say our winter so far is not nearly as bad as last year. Fingers crossed that it will continue that way (not going to bet the cat on that one!)

Well, I have a ticket booked to Thailand, but not 100% sure yet. Lots of uncertainty here at the moment, so we’ll see 🙂

    • Hi Rachel, Thanks for you kind words. Yes, love the detail in the building. Rural Nova Scotia has a lot of beautiful examples of this type of architecture.

  8. This tea brewery looks so charming. I love the architecture and all the interesting things inside the shop. That is indeed a very cool looking tea pot. The smoothie looks so refreshing. Stay warm!

  9. Forgot the tea, the oatcake looks amazing! Looks delicious. I love tea and teahouses when i’m traveling. I usually buy some to take home more so than drinking it there as well.

    • Yes, that oat cake was amazing! There was absolutely no way I could resist. My grandmother (who was from a village close by) used to make something very similar.

  10. I loove a delicious cup of tea but I’ve really gotten into smoothies now.
I have a small collection of tea pots but none looks anything like that one you have here.
