Welcome to Travel Photo Thursday and the last day of January. The weather here in Chiang Mai has taken a bit of turn. We had quite a violent rain storm last night, and most of the old city lost power for several hours. Not comforting when you are walking down small lanes with no lights! I think most of you know that I am a cat lover, and I know some of the regular contributors to Travel Photo Thursday also love these beautiful creatures. Indy is the one thing I really do miss when I’m traveling. Although, I am always happy to know that she is safe in Daejeon. The cats in Chiang Mai really are lovely, and seem to live great lives in the temples, markets and bookstores around the city. I photo them at every opportunity. Today I am going to share with you a few shots of my Chiang Mai feline friends.
To join in the Travel Photo Thursday fun simply post a photo on your blog. Return here and place your link in the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this post.
Please post a link to a post featuring a travel photo, not simply a link to your blog.
The Twitter hash tag for Travel Photo Thursday is #TPThursday.

Love cats – and love photographing cats. The most photogenic of creatures, aren’t they…
They really are! It’s hard to take a bad photo of a cat.
Very cute pics, but I think my favorite is the Buddha cat. It really does look like a spiritual moment for her (him).
He does look like he is just totally tuned into the moment!
I love the picture of Buddha cat! Such concentration and intent. I love cats and would love to own one again soon.
I’ve had Indy for almost 8 years, and cannot imagine not sharing my apartment with her. I do miss her when I’m traveling.
They are just too cute! I love taking pictures of cats on my travels too. My favorite is the sleeping one.
I wanted to grab him and give me a big kiss! 🙂
How cute Nancie. I’ve never seen a cat wearing a coat…he’s adorable!
Jenny, since it’s winter here in Thailand lots of cats and dogs are sporting jackets 🙂

Love your Cats, Especially comfy cat and Buddha Cat. I have a Kamakaze cat in my post this week!
I can’t wait to meet you kamakaze cat, Jan!
How fun! I see so many cats on my travels. It would be fun to start taking pictures of them too.
You should, Michael. They will be a cute addition to your photo collection!
I am horribly allergic to cats, much to my daughter’s chagrin, so I have to admire them from afar. I like the snoozing cat at the end.
Thanks, Michele. I know so many people who are allergic, and that is so sad. Sorry, about your comments getting dumped into my spam folder (no idea why), but never fear…I do find them and approve them:)
Fun! It’s a toss up between the first and last cats pictured. The first one proves that Cat’s expect to be worshiped, and the last that they know how to meditate with total relaxation.
HaHa, Vera…You are so right!
HaHa Vera…You are so right!
Indeed, it’s hard to pick a favorite. I love the posture of the cat in the last photo, but I had a cat looking exactly like the one in the first photo – called “Pufi”- and he was my all time favorite cat…
(^_^) I guess I’ll pick this one…
All cats are beautiful, aren’t they? 🙂
I love cats – any size, shape or color and any country. A wonderful series of photos! Made me smile just looking at them.
Thanks, Jackie. Cats always make me smile, too!
I love them all! But then, you knew I would.
Yes, we are both cat ladies 🙂
These cats are adorable! I hope the weather lets up for you soon in Chiang Mai. Totally love the cat lounging and the Buddha Cat. It looks like it’s listening intently to the chanting. It’s a shame we can’t have cats since my husband is allergic 🙁
Mary, too bad about your husband. Allergies are no fun at all.
That last picture is too cute! Wish I could fall asleep on a step 🙂
That cat with the neck scarf- cracking me up! so cute.
Love that last picture! What a great shot!
What fun shots!! Happy Friday!
Seems Chiang Mai is a good place for photographing cats. If I have to choose, I’d choose the first one. Looks very curious.
I’m not a cat fan, but they look like they’re enjoying themelves.

I love the photo of the cat in the coat. My dog is total wimp in the winter, so she has to wear a coat to stop from shivering.
I love them all. They all seem to have interesting personalities. I like how you captured them in certain expression and action.
