Travel Photo Thursday — January 19th, 2012 — Royal Flora, Chiang Mai, Thailand

Last Updated on January 19, 2012 by Nancie

Welcome to another week of  Travel Photo Thursday. What a difference a couple of weeks can make when you’re traveling. I’ve gone from wiling my days away on a white sand beach to becoming snap happy at Chiang Mai’s Royal Flora. Definitely more tiring than a day at the beach, but who can get tired when you’re surrounded by all these beautiful flowers?! With such a kaleidoscope of colors my camera was on overdrive. This is just a very small sampling for you to enjoy.

To join in the Travel Photo Thursday fun simply post a photo on your blog. Return here and place your link in the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this post.

Please post a link to a post featuring a travel photo, not simply a link to your blog.

As a courtesy please post a link to Budget Travelers Sandbox.

If you do tweet a shot, please use the hashtag #TPThursday.

The Royal Flora is a massive flower show incorporating corporate gardens, country pavilions, the biggest orchid exhibit I have ever seen, a giant floral wheel, and a royal pavilion. Deciding where to go and what to see can be a challenge. The show runs until the end of March, so if you happen to be in Chiang Mai don’t miss it!

  1. We seem to be on the opposite ends of the temperature spectrum this week. Your photos, especially the purple orchid are a lovely reminder of summer.

  2. That tulip in the glass vase is so cool- tulips are my favorite flowers even though they die fairly quickly after picking them.

  3. I totally understand the snap-happy “problem.” When I visit gardens I go absolutely nuts. But it’s not a problem for those of us who won’t be in Chiang Mai, and therefore need to have you show it to us. I put my url for today’s pictures above, but am having trouble getting it published. If you try and it does not work. Please try again.

  4. I totally understand getting snap happy in a garden. I have that urge when I’m around flowers, too. But, believe me it is not a problem for those of us that want to experience the flower show but can’t be in Chiang Mai!

  5. I love anything that has to do with flowers, plants, etc., so this place would be right up my alley. Looks fun.

  6. The pictures are absolutely beautiful. It looks like a wonderful place to visit. I love all the colors and particularly drawn to that floral wheel.

  7. A very colourful series, Nancie! What a wonderfully varied holiday you’re having!

  8. Thanks for the sharing, keep up good work. I love anything that has to do with flowers, plants, etc., so this place would be right up my alley.

  11. I just missed you, I was at Royal Flora about a week after this. That place was exhausting to walk around, and those trams were little help. There were a lot of beautiful flowers, but after a few hours of walking in the heat, all I wanted to do was get out of there.
