Welcome to another week of Travel Photo Thursday. Another week has flown by, and only nine more days before I arrive in Bangkok. My students are in the middle of their exams. My last exam is today, and it’s marks into the computer and I am FREE for the winter!
If you visit a Buddhist temple in Korea close to Buddha’s birthday, May or June, you will be treated to displays of beautiful lanterns. Today’s photos are some of my favorite lantern shots.
To join in the Travel Photo Thursday fun simply post a photo on your blog. Return here and place your link in the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this post.
Please post a link to a post featuring a travel photo, not simply a link to your blog.
If you do tweet a shot, please use the hashtag #TPThursday.

Great colours and patterns. I better get Rednomadoz to check these out!
these are beautiful! I love all the different camera techniques you used. Ah, so pretty to open the page and see such vibrant colors!
What amazingly vibrant colour, a must-see in Korea indeed!

I Love lanterns…but then again I’m a sucker for Asian decorations and architecture
You got me with this one – I love lanterns!
I already placed Korea on my to go list (^_^)
So glad to see all these vivid images of Korea, Nancie. I’ve always had an image of Korea as being all business-like and perhaps a bit grey, but after seeing your posts for the past weeks and months, it has become such an appealing country.
These are all such vivid, beautifully composed photos!
Beautiful! I love the colors and the repetition.
such incredible colors – i SO want to go. i esp love the tree photo – gorgeous!
These are so beautiful! You’re really making me want to visit Korea.
I agree with all. . .the colors are magnificent. I was unable to participate last week due to travel (of all things!) but have to tell you that I really missed being a part of this. I love TPThursdays!!!
Great to have you back this week Jackie. I love your Amsterdam photo. ..and I’m shocked that travel would interfere with Travel Photo Thursday…the nerve!! (laughing here).
Love the colors, patterns and…like last week, the metaphor! A celebration of light that occurs in my neck of the woods is Illumination Night on Martha’s Vineyard, seen in the link I shared. Safe travels to Bangkok and how awesome to have the winter off!
Thanks Meg! Yes, I am blessed with a job I love and lots of free time for traveling.
Stunning colour patterns in these, Nancie. Getting those marks into the computer is something I can identify with from my teaching years. Have a wonderful break!
Jump-right-off-the-page-colors.
Thanks for brightening up a dismal, rainy day !
Wow! Great shots. Love the multi-colored one.
Before looking at your pictures, I never imagine Korea as such a colorful place. These are all gorgeous, but I am particularly stunned by the one you call multi-colored.
I have to miss participation this week, as I have a guest review of Following Atticus, but I’ll be back next week.
Vera…hurry back!!
Outstanding photos. I can’t believe the color intensity. My one experience in Korea was on a cruise. After viewing your photos, I must go back!
Thanks Donna! Do come back. There are so many great things to see and do. Although the number of westerners living and visiting has increased dramatically in ten years I have been here Korea still remains off the beaten track.
You are back 🙂
YES!!
Great colors and interesting
I absolutely messed up, I went to Korea in July… Should have pushed it forward a month 🙁
Thanks for sharing this though, something to remember for my next trip. So beautiful!
Hi Annie! You probably got a lot of rain in July. The best times of the year to come here are April (late) to June, and September/October.
