Through the Sandbox Lens #5 — Election Campaigning Korean Style

Election Campaigning

Election time is here in Korea, and that means organized campaigners at ever intersection. These ladies with their #3 hats are campaigning for Candidate Number 3. Watching them is great free entertainment. While the traffic is stopped they will dance and sing (there’s a truck with a BIG loud speaker right next to them). Once the traffic starts to move through the intersection they will do a long, low bow as each car passes. Sometimes the campaign trucks will even have solo singers belting out election tunes.
