This is the time of the year when I have to keep convincing myself that the cold of winter is almost behind us. Today, one of my favorite shots from a 2009 visit to Langkawi, is helping me do just that.

Langkawi does have some lovely beaches. And the sunsets … wow! I can see how a photo of the beaches there would help you get through the winter.
I was lucky enough to get a couple of fantastic sunset shots. I think I have posted them before, but must check.
I’ve been to Malaysia twice but never to Langkawi. My brother went there for his honeymoon though and really liked it. Great Photo.
Postcard perfect! The tree looks a bit out of place there but it adds to the tropical feel of the picture. Wishing you warm weather soon.
Yes, definitely odd to see in the middle of the beach, but really added to the scene.
Gorgeous! I’ve been wanting to visit Langkawi. Do you know what kind of tree that is?
Jen, I have no idea. Langkawi is well worth a visit, especially if you like nice beaches.
Makes me think of summer and warm weather too . . . nice.
What a fantastic shot, Nancie, it looks like a postcard!
I like the tree!
Yes! I never really expected to find this on a white sand beach. I a weird sort of way it fits in.
It kinda looks like a Lorax tree. Very cool!
Wow, that picture is so great! It will make a very nice postcard.
I love this photo!!!
