Through the Sandbox Lens #26 — “Big Fella”

Last Updated on March 6, 2011 by Nancie

One of the big drawing cards at the Singapore Zoo are the Orangutans. They are an absolute delight. You can have breakfast with these lovable creatures (I did). You can enjoy them in their “free ranging area” ( a world’s first). The zoo has a number of daily programs aimed at giving visitors maximum exposure.

This is one of my favorite shots from my day at the Singapore Zoo. I nicknamed this guy “Big Fella”.

  1. Oh-la-la! And to think I posted about Jurong Bird Park has of course some relations with your big fella here Nancie…lol Mine is a feathered zoo while yours is generally the Singapore zoo… Ahahaa! And you bet, I wanted to dye my hair like that color…lol Cheers!

  2. Awww, he’s fabulous. Are all orangutans that colour? He’s gone for the alternative look. So what did you have for breakfast then?

  3. His colors are amazingly vivid! I honestly didn’t know they could even be that shade of red/orange 🙂 Wonderful shot!

  4. Some kids around try to copy that punk look. I didn’t realise they were so red, you got the light at the right angle to show it up like that. Great pic.
