Getting More Out of Your Vacation Budget…

Today’s economy makes it increasingly difficult to afford a quality vacation with the family. Some opt to purchase a vacation home at a favorite destination, but that means returning to the same place year after year. One way to enjoy good vacations with family friendly accommodations in new locations each year is to invest in a vacation club. With such a club, you purchase time at a resort property to use year after year. So how do vacation clubs work, and how can they benefit today’s family?
When you become a member of a vacation club, you are an owner of a vacation destination for a particular week or weeks. A family will purchase time at a resort and obtain a deed to the property for that time each year. Once you own a share of the property, you and your family can enjoy vacations at the resort on your deed, or you can exchange time to visit another resort for the same amount of time. Vacation clubs generally have multiple resorts and may partner with other vacation exchanges to expand available options. With the right vacation club, you can select locations all over the world. For example, Bluegreen Resorts has over 60 resorts in the United States and Caribbean within their network. They also partner with an international exchange network to provide access to over 4000 resorts worldwide. Becoming an owner with a vacation club provides your family with various opportunities.

The first benefit to today’s family of joining a vacation club is great flexibility. You can stay with the resort where you are an owner, or you can travel to unique destinations each time you take a vacation. With domestic and international locations available, you can browse the club directory to find accommodations near the place you always wanted to visit. Enjoy your visit with your family and stay in a comfortable, luxurious and affordable resort property rather than cramming into a hotel room. Vacation clubs also help make your dream vacation affordable. Because you own the property for that time slot, you won’t be paying rent or daily room fees for your stay. Most clubs will have an annual maintenance fee, much like paying property taxes on your home, but you won’t be paying for lodging during your vacation. Finally, because vacation clubs are resort properties, you can expect resort quality accommodations and service. Enjoy a vacation of luxury in the destination of your choice.

As the economy puts a strain on our budgets, we need a way to afford getting away. Vacation clubs provide an alternative to vacation homes or hotel stays. By purchasing time at a resort property, a family can unlock a world of vacation opportunities. There is no need to be locked into the same location year after year. Most clubs provide worldwide exchange networks to expand your vacation options. Enjoy resort quality accommodations and service wherever you go. By investing in a vacation property, you save on hotel fees each time you take advantage of the club’s resources. There are some great benefits to becoming part of a vacation club.

  1. My husband and I were thinking about doing this years ago and went along to one of the presentations. It all looked great, but we always like to walk away and discuss and sleep on any major decisions. We found the sales pitch way too heavy handed and we practically had to beg our way of the place. It was not a pleasant experience and it put us off joining up.

    • Hi Kathy. Sometimes these sales people are so pushy. They can be so heavy handed, and only manage to scare potential buyers off.
