Annapolis Royal Winter Sunsets
Welcome to week 358 (2/8/2018) of Travel Photo Thursday, and some famous Annapolis Royal Winter Sunsets. I have to say my first Nova Scotia winter in about 18 years is a shock to my system. Even though I experienced the cold winters in Korea, the snowfall was usually light. Spending two months in warmer climes every year also helped, too. I’ve been spoiled. However, never mind that. Although it seems like all its done in Annapolis Royal lately is snow. we have been treated to a few lovely Annapolis Royal winter sunsets. Enjoy the ones I have managed to capture.

Annapolis Basin
One of the best places to capture the sunset in Annapolis Royal is in our downtown, which fronts on the Annapolis Basin. Do you know that the Annapolis Basin is a sub-basin of the Bay of Fundy, which is famous for some of the highest tides in the world? While the winter sun may not be as brilliant as the summer sun, winter sunsets over the basin, with their orange hues, are special.
Same shot as above, but I left the mound of snow 🙂
I even catch lovely glimpses of Annapolis Royal winter sunsets from the windows of my condo, now that the trees have lost their leaves. Once they return, these sunsets will probably be hidden. However, that’s okay because next summer we’ll have a delightful garden of flowers and a fountain imported from China to admire and photograph.
I hope you enjoyed these brief glimpses of our Annapolis Royal winter sunsets. I have to admit my photography and blogging muses seem to be hibernating at the moment. However, spring will be in the air soon, and I know my muses will be jumping for joy.

Gorgeous sunsets! I did not know Annapolis Basin is a sub-basin of the Bay of Fundy. I did know about the incredible high tides at Bay of Fundy, and may finally get a chance to see them this fall.
Favorite winter sunsets during my travels have been in Tucson AZ and Carpinteria CA.
Cheers,
Susan
Beautiful photos! I love the sight of hills across the water!

Such beautiful sunsets. I hope the snow lets up soon for you. Looks like we both have sunsets in mind this week. 🙂
I imagine how it feel being covered with snow. My mom keep asking me when I am moving close to her (Pennsylvania) and tell her not in the near future. I have no plans of leaving the warm weather of California. Great sunset photos!
These winter sunsets are so picturesque and spectacular, Nancie! I fell in love with this place thanks to your pictures!
