In reply to Anita. Hi Anita. I love octopus. In fact, I had some last night. What I feasted on in Alvor was the best I've ever had. It was perfectly grilled in a bit of olive oil, and the potatoes were fantastic, too! I will put Ferragudo on my must see list for next time!

I’m going to have to give that grilled octopus a try – MMM! There’s another little village near Alvor called Ferragudo where, as a friend describes, the dogs “walk themselves” and you’ll see one or two walking very purposely on their way to wherever with a big doggy smile. Love it!

Love the dog! We never made it to Algarve when we went to Portugal around the same time you did. That’s such a scenic photo. I’ve never found grilled octopus appealing but your photo makes me want to try one. 🙂

Seems like the dog / cat in Spain and Portugal is very similar to the one in California. In here, half of the state goes to brunch with their dogs on Saturdays and Sundays. So, it is kind of fun observing all the dogs waiting for their owners in the patios. Alvor looks like the perfect small, beach town. I would like to try that octopus.

He is a beautiful dog and I can taste the octopus all the way over here in Australia. I’ve not been to Alvor but I do love portugal.
