Welcome to another week of Travel Photo Thursday. A friend of mine arrived here in Prague last week, so we have been busy seeing both Prague and traveling a little further afield to experience a few other Czech towns. I am also winding up my stay here in Prague. I’ll be flying out to Seoul this coming Sunday, arriving back in Daejeon late Monday afternoon. Of course, now that my departure is imminent it feels like my time here has absolutely flown. I’ve totally enjoyed Prague and Czech, and will leave a little piece of my heart here, so I’ll be sure to come back someday soon. I’ll share one photo with you today, and it was taken in the beautiful town of Kutna Hora, a world UNESCO site. This is just a tease for more to come once I am back in Daejeon.

A hill with a view…Czech’s Kutna Hora…
___
A world UNESCO site, Kutna Hora is a quick and affordable day trip from Prague on the rapid train. We spent a leisurely day roaming the cobblestone streets, and rubbing elbows with the remains of some 40,000 skeletons; more about that next week. If you can’t wait until next, here’s a link to introduce you to the town and it’s sites.

Fantastic photo! I love the colors!
Thanks Jessica. Czech has been getting a lot of rain, so everything is very green, which definitely adds to the richness of the shot, I think.
I will definitely travel further afield next time I’m in the Czech Republic (if I’m so lucky). I loved Prague, but a town like Kutna Hora looks so inviting & away from the crowds. Beautiful photo.

Kutna Hora is so pretty, isn’t it? Did you see the bone church nearby as well? So odd but so interesting.
Hi Sophie, Yes we did the bone church, and definitely and an oddity!
I love these type of photos – simply yet GORGEOUS!
The colors are so vibrant and beautiful! Love the contrast between the grass and the super blue sky. Great shot!
Oooh, I can see why you’ve left a little piece of your heart here. How beautiful, Nancie!
I love the colors in this photo! (^_^) Beautiful view…
Your photo is certainly a tease, Nancie. What a beautiful town. One to definitely remember for the next trip!

Love the sky. I’ve been to Prague, but didn’t have time to venture outside of Prague. Kutna Hora looks like a great day trip.
Such a beautiful photo – can’t wait to hear more about your trip!
Love everything about that picture. The colors are amazing. And the weather totally fits with the scenery. And the colored houses… Beautiful!
Prague is one of my favorite cities in the world. It is so beautiful and, may I add, it has the BEST beer in the world.
Yes, beauty and fantastic beer…cannot ask for anything more!!
What a beautiful picture. The Czech Republic is a place I’ve always wanted to visit, but somehow, have never gotten around visiting. Got too distracted studying Arabic 😉 I’ll have to visit Europe soon, but only after I save up some money!

Oh you still in Prague? Nice. What will you do when you go back to South Korea? Are you going to be teaching? For how much longer? I’m wondering whether you have contemplated moving or working elsewhere. Just curious, I don’t mind learning more about South Korea 😉
Have a wonderful flight back and I hope I can come with next time you’re in Europe! 😀
Hi, yes I’m still in Prague. I’m flying back to SK on Sunday. I don’t start teaching until the beginning of September, so I’m going to some domestic travel. I’ve also just moved into a new apartment, and need to do a few things. I’ll be in Korea for at least another 18 months, but not sure beyond that.
Thanks for the link up. I hope to visit Prague in a couple years to hear my son play Chopin there! 🙂
Wow -it looks gorgeous. This isn’t a place I’m familiar with, but think I’m going to have to add it to the travel list! Can’t wait to see more of your pictures from here.
Maybe because it was rainy when I was in Budapest, I always think of that part of the world as gray–you certainly disprove that! Gorgeous.
Sometimes a photo does say it all, doesn’t it? Beautiful scene you captured, Nancie.
This is absolutely beautiful and scenic. I’m looking forward to the rest of the pictures of this lovely town. Glad you had a wonderful vacation. Have a safe trip, Nancie!
Thanks Mary. Kutna Hora was lovely, and I wouldn’t mind going back and staying overnight. I’d love to wander around the ancient streets early in morning or evening.
Mmm, I can’t wait to see and hear more of Kutna Hora…it looks incredible. Have a safe journey home!
I have a shot of the same view but on a very cloudy day. Kutna Hora has a very interesting history. Very nice place.
GORGEOUS! It doesn’t look real it is so pretty!
Thanks for hosting each week!!
You certainly captured the great light – gorgeous depth of colour.
This pictures is absolutely beautiful. I especially like the red roofs. It makes me know that once winter hits, it’s probably also very cold here. 🙂
Alas, I only had 3 nights/2 days to spend when I was in Prague, too little time for that city, no time to explore anywhere nearby.
Beautiful photo! Prague is one place my husband hasn’t seen yet. I’ll have to remember this post when I started planning that trip. Thanks for sharing!
Looks like you had a beautiful day there! Seems like a lovely town. I really want to go and explore more of the Czech Republic…

Sky looks brilliant in this shot, lots of vibrant colours in there, looks like an ace day for photography.
It looks very neat and prosperous. I’m sure Czechland has changed a lot since I was there in the early 1990s.
