I think we stayed at Porto, anyway it was a beautiful village by the sea on the north west coast.

That was a pretty little seaside town with an equally pretty albeit small beach. There are spectacular cliff walks in the area as well. One of the things we liked about Lisbon (and there were many) was the proximity of water and the lovely big river right on their doorstep.
