I really really love Queensland beach. I go there every time I am home. It’s so quiet too! (Compared to other beaches I’ve been to.)

Lovely beach, Nancy, and I like the fact that it’s uncrowded and looks like a place just to walk and enjoy the beauty of the place. We lived in Montana for years and I can remember the bone-aching chill of the water: blue toes and feet! It always amazes me that a few brave souls actually get into the water!

Texas beaches have bathtub temperature water. I’m always in shock whenever I try to go in anyplace where it’s remotely cold. I don’t know if I’d be brave enough for Queensland. Good thing that it’s beautiful, and I can occupy my time just looking at things. I especially like those water smoothed rocks.

Queensland beach looks a lot like beaches where I grew up in Connecticut. Every time you post about Nova Scotia I want even more to go there! Someday….

I was very disappointed the first time I went to a beach (in Quebec) and the water was freezing even though it was July. It was a total shock to my system as in Jamaica, the water is warm year round. I still love going to beach – the water is very calming – but when I go here, I just watch the waves.
The beach I used to visit when I lived in Jamaica has changed now but I have such lovely memories of Sundays and holidays with my cousins splashing in the water, learning – or trying – to learn how to swim, despite the waves. Once when the water got into my mouth, I couldn’t believe how salty it was. Thanks for sharing this post, Nancie. It made me smile as I read it. I could almost feel the sun on my face, even though the people in your photos look cold.

Well I live in Queensland in Australia and our beaches look nothing like this! Your photos have a retro look about them. Did you purposely add a retro effect to them?

In reply to budget jan. Hi Jan. We do get hot beach days, but they are numbered! Actually, within an hour of these shots the fog had burned off, and it ended up to be a blazing hot day! The restaurant had been there forever, so it was a shame.

In reply to Jackie Smith. Hi Jackie! It ended up to be a sunny, blazing hot day and just an hour or so later! Fog is good for the complexion :)
