ITs for posts like these that you co e to know of some gems that are not so touristy. A great place to visit and one I would surely if I was around that part of America. Lafayette surely is an interesting little town. Love the wood carver and the rustic look of the little town. Looks full of life and fun with the Mardigras bears and the music festivals. Overall a must visit if you there thanks fir sharing.

Wow! Small Town Explorer series is definitely a wonderful idea. I totally agree that there are still a lot of hidden treasures and I admire bloggers who help these small businesses be discovered.

Louisiana certainly has some hidden gems! We have family is some tiny towns so Louisiana is high on our list of places to explore and Lafayette jumped to the top of the list. You hit the jackpot with musicians as roommates. What a great bonus!!

I haven’t been in Lafayette or Luisiana but it seems like its such a lovely little town! How amazing is that you were able to stay there for a month and get to know this place and people better! Ive always wanted to do that, especially met all older locals and hear their stories! Seems like the place offer great places to stay and great places to eat! The German food looks amazing! What a great placem thanks for sharing!

I spent a week in New Orleans several years ago, but haven’t been anywhere else in Louisiana. Lafayette looks like a great small town to visit. The experience of that house concert sounds like it would be amazing.

So many people in Houston go to Lafayette for business but I didn’t stop to think of it as an enjoyable destination. That’s a pretty impressive list of free activities taking place! While I love experiencing all the food, the poutine and Cajun poutine variations sound delicious!
